Inert Gas Systems are used primarily for tankship cargo safety. Gas is blown into the cargo tanks to reduce the oxygen content in the ullage space thereby providing an inert environment which prevents the ignition of flammable vapours.
Coldharbour Inert Gas Systems comply with current IMO Solas Regulations and meet classification society requirements
Depending upon the type of tanker, either Inert Gas Generator Systems (IGGS) or Flue Gas Systems (FGS) can be supplied with the further option of a combined FGS/IGG set up being available. Systems can be sized for handling capacities of up to 20,000Nm3/hr.
Sea Guardian Inert Gas Generators are also used in combination with other technologies to provide a Ballast Water Treatment solution.
